Route A specification — outcome chain

Goal

Decide whether h04’s OHC-loss-to-hearing-threshold/audiogram chain is genuinely repairable under STRC literature-first rules, separating executable-path defects from scientific calibration defects. A script merely running and printing dB values is not evidence of repair.

Deliverables

  • runs/hypa/repro.txt — exact commands, complete stdout/stderr, and exit codes for the three named scripts.
  • runs/hypa/DISPOSITION.md — separate stale-path and calibration-grounding defects, then state one final verdict.
  • runs/hypa/PROVENANCE.md — every OHC-transfer-table constant and every dB-band boundary, with value, units, claimed source, local parsed-primary status, and note status.
  • GROUNDING/hypa-<slug>.md — every relied-on passage persisted at retrieval time with verbatim text, bibliographic locator, exact query, index path, evidentiary weight, and any explicit bridging derivation.
  • runs/hypa/apply.sh — idempotent, reviewable chief-run patch limited to named STRC files; never executed here.
  • runs/hypa/RANKING-DELTA.md — exact h04 log line plus tier/score recommendation.
  • runs/hypa/verify.txt — bash -n result and fresh reruns of all three scripts without applying the patch.
  • Herdr completion receipts turn-1.md and turn-2.md, each containing one RESULT: line unless an owner decision is genuinely required.

Done criteria

  1. All three baseline executions are reproduced with unabridged captured output and exit status.
  2. Both missing JSON files and both dead hard-coded roots are independently confirmed.
  3. Numeric provenance covers the complete transfer table and every dB classification/output band used by the three scripts.
  4. Bredberg 1968, Schuknecht and Gacek 1993, and the claimed Sun/Lv 2024 OTOF anchor each receive bounded local-corpus and external-primary-source retrieval attempts, with relied-on passages persisted immediately.
  5. Verdict is exactly REPAIRED only if every calibration anchor has a canonical type: lit note in sources/lit/ and each claimed value is grep-verifiable there; otherwise verdict is exactly NOT-MODELABLE, anchor by anchor, with no analog substitution or invented band.
  6. apply.sh parses under bash -n, uses set -euo pipefail, is idempotent, has explicit targets, deletes nothing, and represents only the recommended vault edits.
  7. The three scripts are rerun after drafting (without running apply.sh), and all verification output is captured.
